In this 30 minute demo watch the behind the scenes of a virtual production in which two virtual crew members work collaboratively in virtual reality to produce content from the safety of their homes.

Ari Tarr is an immersive performer and conducts shows in a weekly immersive storytelling experience called Adventure Lab, a VR entertainment company led by ex-Pixar and Oculus artists. He also produces real-time animated projects in VR and he embodies the future of acting.
Jordan Cerminara is a west-coast comedian from Washington who uses virtual production to conduct animated comedy shows on Zoom. As a freelance writer, director, and editor, he is using virtual production to build a new media freelance career during COVID-19.
Caity Curtis is an improviser, improv trainer and live event producer. She co-produced Pixels, a real-time live animated show that debuted at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival in 2018. She has performed and taught improv and storytelling all over North America. Caity is one of the longtime hosts of TEDxWinnipeg and is the Associate Artistic Director of the Winnipeg Improv Festival.
Stephen Sim is an internationally beloved improviser. He is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Winnipeg Improv Festival and is a co-producer of Pixels. For the last 20 years, Stephen has been leading master classes in improvisation and performing at festivals around the world. Stephen is currently exploring the new world of online live event production and online audience engagement.
4:00pm - 4:30pm | The COVID Characters Project
Watch clips and learn about the process of making a real-time unscripted animation using virtual production techniques.
The COVID Characters is an unscripted animation project about how the pandemic changed the lives of ten high school students during the lockdown. This short animated documentary was created and produced in virtual reality. Many of the characters were sculpted by the students using virtual sculpting tools and all the characters were powered through live motion capture. All the artwork was integrated into a game engine all while the students worked from the safety of their homes.
